Resumption of Services
The Railway’s special public summer train service commenced on Saturday 11th July 2020, fully compliant with the restrictions to manage the risks associated with Covid-19.
The initial service will be an out-and-back trip from Swanage. No intermediate alighting/boarding is permitted. All tickets must be prebooked to ensure an allocated socially distanced seat. At later date, currently 1 August, more trains and stations will be added to the timetable.
Passengers are required to wear face coverings when on stations and trains, unless exempt on specified health grounds.
These trains are designated a special service and the usual concessions for Members and others will not apply*. Full service details, as well as opportunities to book on-line are on the Railway’s web-site swanagerailway.co.uk
Call for volunteers.
To operate this service safely requires additional stewards at each station. If you are able to volunteer please contact martin.trott@swangerailway.co.uk or go to srstaff.co.uk
*So that this service can provide support towards our financial needs over the winter period we have designated it a special service. I hope you will understand the reason for that and take the opportunity to travel to support your Railway in this exceptionally difficult period.
Swanage Railway Magazine
In common with a number of publications, the next issue of the Swanage Railway Magazine has been delayed by production difficulties as a consequence of Covid-19. Unless there are further unforeseen delays, we expect that the next edition will be out before the end of July.
