Purbeck Railway Circle November Meeting

On Friday 10th November, Mike Walshaw will deliver a presentation entitled “Mike’s Meanderings 1959 to 1975”.

For those who may not know, Mike is a well known personality on the Swanage Railway who was deeply involved with Project Wareham. He is also a regular volunteer signalman and a member of the PRC Committee.

Mike has described his presentation as a traditional railway slide show. The content of the show revolves around his exploits with the Railway Enthusiast’s Club (REC) which he joined back in 1955. Locations visited include the Isle of Mann (1959), camping coaches in Cornwall and Scotland, the railway scene in Liverpool (1959) and the opening of the Bluebell Railway (1960). His meanderings conclude with some shots of REC charter trains in 1960-63 and a tour of signal boxes from Deal to Swanage.

The Circle meets in Harmans Cross Village Hall, Haycrafts Lane, Harmans Cross at 7.00 for 7.30 pm.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
